Scouting the Mavericks: UNO lost its last game, 3-2, in an exhibition against the United States Under-18 Team. Sophomore goaltender Ryan Massa, who had announced last summer that he would be sitting out this season for personal reasons, started the game and burned his redshirt…The Mavericks are second in the WCHA and in the country in scoring for all games played, netting an average of 3.50 goals per game…Junior forward and Hobey Baker Award candidate Ryan Walters has points in 23 of his last 25 games…UNO tied a school record when it wrapped up its sixth two-game sweep of the season two weeks ago at Alaska-Anchorage…Form (last five results in non-exhibition games): OTL-L-L-W-OTW.

Scouting the Badgers: Wisconsin is getting set to play its third and fourth games in a seven-day span. UW split a pair of games at home in Madison, Wis. earlier this week about future Big Ten hockey conference opponent Penn State…Freshman forward Nic Kerdiles has points in six of his last seven games and in eight of his last 10. UW is 13-4-5 with him in its lineup…UW’s power play is the nation’s worst, only clicking at a 10.9 percent rate (11 for 101)…The Badgers won each of their first five games against UNO, but has only won one of the teams’ last four meetings…Form: W-L-W-W-L.
