Nebraska Omaha picked up a much-needed point Saturday night, as the No. 13 Mavericks finished their series finale at ninth-ranked Denver in a 3-3 at DU’s Magness Arena.

UNO battled back from three one-goal deficits on Saturday night to salvage a point from the Mavericks’ two-game series this weekend at Denver…Despite giving up seven goals on the weekend, DU netminder Juho Olkinuora stopped 81 other shots over the two games, including 43 on Saturday…Factoring in Paul Phillips’ second-period goal Saturday, UNO conceded two shorthanded goals in the seriers, with one coming each night. The Mavericks have now given up four such goals this season, which is the third-highest among the 12 teams in the WCHA…The Pioneers are still unbeaten all-time against UNO. The Mavericks are now 8-0-2 in the teams’ ten meetings in Denver…Saturday’s announced attendance at Magness Arena was 5,456.
