Scouting the Mavericks: UNO flew out of the blocks on Friday and picked up two two-goal leads in the course of their first game of this series against visiting Bemidji State, but the Beavers fought back to force a 3-3 tie…Defenseman Michael Young, consistently one of the Mavericks’ leaders on the blue line, is a healthy scratch Saturday…Freshman Anthony Stolarz will start in goal for UNO Saturday. Scouting the Beavers: A win on Saturday would give Bemidji State’s hockey program its 1,000th win. BSU currently stands at 999-505-95 all-time over 57 years of intercollegiate competition…Following Friday’s 3-3 tie, BSU is unbeaten in its last seven games in Omaha…Sophomore goaltender Andrew Walsh conceded three goals to UNO on Friday, but he stopped 39 other shots in 65 minutes of play…Junior forward Radoslav Illo is the Beavers’ danger man up front, leading the team thus far in scoring.
